Terminator Hall (#6), driven by Wally Hennessey, edges past Guy Gets Girl (#2), driven by Bruce Ranger, in the final yards of the featured $14,000 Open Handicap Trot at Pompano Park on Monday, scoring the victory in 1:55.1.
Terminator Hall utilized a methodical first-over march to overtake Guy Gets Girl in the final yards of the featured $14,000 Open Handicap Trot at Pompano Park on Monday, scoring by a neck while covering the mile in a seasonal best 1:55.1.
Guided from post six by Wally Hennessey, Terminator Hall trotted three-wide through the opening turn of the Monday feature before settling contently along the pylons in fourth place as Guy Gets Girl (Bruce Ranger) showed the way through fractions of :28.2 and :56.4.
As the feature-race trotters made their journey down the backstretch, Terminator Hall was moved off the pylons to begin his first-over charge, and the son of Striking Sahbra slowly began to grind away at the advantage held by Guy Gets Girl, as that one hit the three-quarters marker in 1:26.
Guy Gets girl entered the stretch with a one-length lead, but was quickly engaged by Terminator Hall, and that pair trotted on even terms through the lane with Terminator Hall pushing his way to the front in shadow of the wire to post the victory.
Terminator Hall returned $9.80, $4.60, and $3.40 for the victory. Guy Gets Girl brought in $4.60 and $3.00 for second, while Muscular (Dave Mercer) paid $4.00 for third.
Owned by John Bach of Goshen, N.Y., and trained by Jim McDonald, Terminator Hall has now tallied consecutive victories at Pompano Park, and owns a seasonal record of six wins from 25 starts, with $44,774 in earnings this year.

S. Trotting Association).
Born to be a Champion…
Dewey was bred and raised at Cameo Hills Farm in Montgomory, New York and was sold at the Lexington Select Yearling Sale for a price tag of $80,000. This colt never let his connections down for owner/ trainer/driver/ Ray Schnittker (stabled at Goshen Historic Track), along with partners, Ted Gewertz of New York City, Charles Iannazzo of Tappan, NY and the Deweycheatumnhowe Stable of Frank Baldassare, Alan Leavitt and Walnut Hall Ltd. Dewey had just two “baby race qualifiers” under him when his win streak began, winning the Harriman Cup at the Meadowlands Race Track on June 28th in 1:59. From there he competed in two legs of the New Jersey Sire Stakes, each week lowering his mark, only to win the final on July 18th for a purse of $175,000 in 1:57. He then had a two month break before heading to Lexington, Kentucky to race at The Red Mile on September 27th and October 4th winning both his 2 yr old colt stakes, lowering his lifetime mark to 1:54.2. His next stop was at Woodbine Race Track in Canada, winning his “Valley Victory” elimination race, which made him elegible for the final on October 27th for a purse of $692,692. Dewey kept his perfect win streak alive as he won the “Valley Victory”.
Dewey’s final stake race of the season took him into the “Breeders Crown” eliminations on November 16th at the Meadowlands Race Track. He wins his elimination division, awarding him a position in the Breeders Crown final on November 24th for a purse of $650,000. Leaving from post position 3, he went wire to wire to capture his final race of the season in 1:57.2, making his winners circle appearance a joyous one. Owners, family, and friends all join in to take pleasure in the accomplishments of this outstanding colt. (See photo above)
Ray Schnittker saddles up “Dewey” for a highly deserved, relaxing ride around his farm in Middletown, New York, in between their hectic schedules from racing. This gives Dewey some different scenery as he works hard all week.
Dewey has been shipped to Walnut Hall Farm in Lexington, Kentucky where he is turned out in plush green pastures to rest up and mature for his 3 Yr Old Campaign in 2008. Good Luck on a sucessful 3 yr old year!

2007 Breeders Crown 2yr Old Colt Trotter Champion!

Goshen Historic Track Media Director
Deweycheatumnhowe, named after three, gag “Mock Lawyers” on the famed Johnny Carson Show, had no problems in this case, showing the judges he could win the $650,000 Breeders Crown Final for 2 yr old trotting colts at the Meadowlands Race Track on Saturday night, November 24, 2007.
The Muscles Yankee colt is trained, driven and co-owned by Ray Schnittker (stabled at Goshen Historic Track), along with partners, Ted Gewertz of New York City, Charles Iannazzo of Tappan, NY and the Deweycheatumnhowe Stable of Frank Baldassare, Alan Leavitt and Walnut Hall Ltd.
Ray fires Dewey off the gate, taking no prisoners to the quarter pole in 28.4. Lear Jetta (winner of his Crown Elimination) concedes the lead and took the pocket trip as they rolled to the half in 57.1. Trotting a 31 second, third quarter breather to the three quarter pole in 1:28.1, the colt came off the final turn for a comfortable win in 1:57.2, defending his undefeated, perfect, 10 starts, 10 wins in his freshman season. Celebrity Secret owned by Celebrity Farms (also trained in Goshen) finished second, with Lear Jetta finishing third.
Goshen Historic Track is proud to be in part, the training facility in which the first two finishers in this Breeders Crown Division for 2 Yr Old Colt Trotters were trained.
When Schnittker was asked if this is the best colt he’s ever trained, he replied, “Yes, because he wins every week, when you hit a home run like this, you’d better enjoy it. He's had a lot of luck and nothing has gone bad for him. He just overcomes everything. This is probably the second best night he’s had to race and he came through. He’s been on all kinds of horrendous tracks, windstorms, rain and everything. He’s just a good horse.”
When Schnittker heard that interviewer (Hollywood) Bob Hayden had picked another horse to win, Ray said with a smile, “I knew you picked another horse, so I thought we had a good chance to win.” And this held true as Dewey breezed through his 2 yr old campaigne, capturing the Breeders Crown Final Championship for 2 yr old trotting colts.
“Dewey” will probably be on his way to Kentucky to enjoy acres of plush green pastures and a vacation that he has by far earned and deserved.
Schnittker is eager about next year’s season with this colt. “I’m excited, he’s pretty versatile, but I think I’m going to have to open him up, he’s getting a little warm.”
When Schnittker was asked about the plans for the colt on his 3 yr old circuit, he said “If he stays sound, he will be headed to the Historic, Stanley Dancer and the Hambletonian. I thought that the Donato (2007 Hambletonian winner Donato Hanover) connections were very smart. So we’re going to follow that procedure and do exctly what Steve Elloitt did with that horse.
Congratulations on your Successful Freshman Year!

Deweycheatumnhowe enjoys life on the farm at Shale Acres in Middletown, N.Y. when he’s not training at Goshen Historic Track. Time spent in the fields and fresh country air, appears to fit this young colts program.
The son of Muscles Yankee, was raised at Cameo Hills Farm, Bred by Steve Jones and was an $80,000 yearling purchase at the Lexington Selected Sale in 2006. He extended his win streak to nine, to remain undefeated in his freshman campaign.
In the $25,000 first division of two eliminations for 2yr old trotting colts, this equine athlete had no problems trotting his way to the winners circle for his trainer and driver Ray Schnittker.
Leaving the starting gate from post positon 4, Ray Schnittker sent Dewey to the front with an opening quarter in 29.1. Trotting at a training mile speed, the colt is uncontested to the half against strong winds in 1:00.1. He reachs the three quarter pole at a snails pace in 1:31.4, as Schnittker looks over his shoulder to see where his competition is. The field trots around the final turn into the stretch, and the race was over as Deweycheatumnhowe opens up by four lengths, trotting his last quarter in 27.1 to win gate to wire in 1:59. Celebrity Secret finished second, while Keystone Blitz, Crazed and Nautical Notion advance to the final next week.
Lear Jetta, trained by Robert Myers with Tim Tetrick driving, wins the second elimination for 2 Year-Old Colt Trotters in 1:58.3 trotting his last quarter in 27.4 making it his 11th win this year. “Lear Jetta” raced from off the pace, coming first up at the leader DiManggio, passing the field to a 4 ¼ length victory.
Yankee Matthew finished second, Intimidator was third,
Di Manggio and Little Moon Lake round out the remainder of horses to advance to the final next week.
Next Saturday night, November 24th at The Meadowlands Race Track, ten 2 Year-Old Trotting Colts race for a purse of $650,000 in the Breeders Crown Final, as the elimination winners Deweycheatumnhowe and Lear Jetta take on their rivals.

Deweycheatumnhowe named
October's Best
Thursday, November 1, 2007
by Paul Ramlow, USTA Internet News Editor
Columbus, OH - Ray Schnittker, Ted Gewertz, Charles Iannazzo and Deweycheatumnhowe Stable's Deweycheatumnhowe rode a perfect month of October into Horse of the Month honors from the United States Trotting Association.
Trained and driven by co-owner Schnittker, the son of Muscles Yankee, out of the Speedy Somolli mare Trolley Square, won three times during the month, extending his freshman record to a perfect eight-for-eight. His 2007 bankroll stands at $598,691.
"Dewey" opened up his month on October 4 in a $90,500 International Stallion Stake division at The Red Mile. The 1-9 favorite made his move first-over after the :28.1 opening quarter and used a :27.4 second panel to take a comfortable lead by the :56 half. Deweycheatumnhowe rounded three-quarters in 1:26 and did not look back. Though Velocity Hall and Waterstone gave chase, they could get no closer than 3-1/2 lengths, as Deweycheatumnhowe crossed the wire in a personal best 1:54.2.
Next up was a $23,690 Valley Victory elimination on October 20 at Woodbine. Starting from the rail, Deweycheatumnhowe was parked out fourth at the opening quarter in :29.1, but rolled on and gained command by the :59 half-mile marker. From there it was no contest as Deweycheatumnhowe cut subsequent fractions of 1:28.1 and 1:56.4 to cross the finish line 1-1/4 lengths ahead of Celebrity Secret. Over Ruled finished third.
In his final start of the month, the $692,692 Valley Victory final on October 27 at Woodbine, Deweycheatumnhowe followed the same strategy of his previous two efforts. He was second on the outside at the :28.2 opening quarter, gained command at the :58.1 half, put in a :30 second third quarter to trip the beam in 1:28.1, then cruised home in a final time of 1:58 on a chilly evening. Make It Happen was second, 2-1/2 lengths behind the winner, while Celebrity Secret was third.
Schnittker's stars sweep the Valley Victory Eliminations

Rexdale, ON- It was a night fraught with mishaps, but not for New York-based trainer-driver Ray Schnittker, who scored wins in both C$23,000 Valley Victory Eliminations on Saturday evening at Woodbine Racetrack. A malfunction with the track’s lighting system delayed the start of racing for some time, before horses finally were able to go postward for the eliminations. But all went smoothly for the prohibitive favorite in the first split, the Schnittker stable star, Deweycheatumnhowe, who moved smartly to the lead at the half, and trotted confidently to victory from there, holding-off Celebrity Secret and Jack Moiseyev by 1-1/4 lengths. The Ron Gurfein trainees Over Ruled and Stand Guard took third and fourth. The Winning time was 1:56.4.
Deweycheatumnhowe, a 2-year-old son of Muscles Yankee, is now undefeated in seven starts and won for owners Schnittker, Ted Gewertz, Charles Iannozzo, and the Deweycheatumnhowe Stable of Lexington, Ky.
Schnittker’s entry in the second elimination, Make It Happen, went off at considerably longer odds, and survived a very problematic mile to surge past an off-stride Intimidator in the final strides at the wire, in 1:58.2.
A raccoon who ran across the track in the first turn caused havoc in the field of 2-year-old colts, triggering a break by number seven, Di Manggio and driver Yannick Gingras, which in turn caused interference with number one, Lancer Springs (Luc Ouellette), who were following. Bets on both colts were refunded after the race.
Mr Mission, with Jody Jamieson at the lines, moved up for second, and Deliberate and driver Michel Lachance took third, while the fourth place finisher, Intimidator, was placed sixth and Credit AS moved up from fifth to fourth as a result of the break.
Make It Happen, by Conway Hall, is actually a grandson of Valley Victory, through his dam, Meadowbranch Magic. He is owned by the Eat My Dust Stable, Daisy Acres, Howard Taylor, and Jack Adkins, and now has a record of three wins in 10 starts.
The connections of both Make It Happen and Deweycheatumnhowe earned the right to select their post positions for the C$666,050 Valley Victory Final, which will be raced on Oct. 27 at Woodbine.
Deweycheatumnhowe
remains unbeaten

by T.J. Burkett, for The Red Mile
Lexington, KY - A pair of undefeated freshman trotting colts, world champion Muscle Mass and Deweycheatumnhowe, continued their winning ways in their respective divisions of the Walnut Hall Limited Cup Bluegrass Series over a sloppy track at The Red Mile on Thursday afternoon, September 27.
Deweycheatumnhowe won the fastest of the five Bluegrass divisions, scoring in 1:55.3 for driver-trainer Ray Schnittker. Schnittker took the Muscles Yankee colt to the top after a :28.1 quarter and never looked back, even though front-end speed has not held up recently at The Red Mile.
"I was far back off the gate and I pulled after seeing that first quarter in :28.1," Schnittker said. "I knew the other drivers thought I had a good horse so there was a good chance I wouldn't get his brains parked out if I pulled."
After winning his first four starts at the Meadowlands, including the $175,000 New Jersey Sires Stakes final in July, Schnittker gave Deweycheatumnhowe a two-month break before starting in the Bluegrass.
"He wasn't staked to anything else until Lexington so I gave him a break. He's eligible to the Valley Victory and the Breeders Crown as well as the International Stallion Stake next week," Schnittker added.
Deweycheatumnhowe is owned by the partnership of Schnittker, Ted Gewertz, Charles Iannazzo and the Deweycheatumnhowe Stable.
